i-Chroma RF IgM

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease. One characteristic of the immune system is to recognize self from non self cells. When the immune system is functioning normally, it recognizes foreign invaders and responds by creating antibodies that seek out and fight them off. However, due to unknown reasons, the body of some individuals start producing antibodies against its own body tissues. Rheumatoid factors are antibodies directed against self Fc region of immunoglobulin G. They are autoantibodies found in patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.
